Facebook recalling foam masks for Oculus Quest 2 headsets

According to the latest report, after a very small number of users reported that their skin was generally mildly irritated, Oculus’s parent company Facebook decided to recall the foam mask of Oculus Quest 2 and will provide a new free silicone mask.

Today, we are launching a new silicone mask for all customers worldwide, including as part of a joint voluntary recall of the Quest 2 removable foam mask interface with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, Facebook stated in a community letter Announced.

In addition, Facebook will also suspend global sales of Quest 2, while we are working hard to add new silicone masks to all Quest 2 packaging. Facebook is expected to resume sales of Quest 2 on August 24, and the product will now be shipped with the new silicone mask.

As part of this voluntary recall, Facebook provides free silicone sleeves to all users of Oculus Quest 2 headsets and Quest 2 Fit Pack. Users can apply here. It is reported that when the Oculus Quest 2 headset resumes sales on August 24, Oculus will replace the basic 64GB model with a 128GB model, and its price will also be US$299/£299.
