Blizzard’s president announced his resignation

The game company Blizzard issued a statement on its official website today, saying that President J. Allen Brack announced his resignation, and Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will become Blizzard’s joint leaders. Before that, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing initiated a lawsuit against Blizzard, accusing it of violating equal pay regulations, as well as gender discrimination and sexual harassment.

According to foreign media reports, Blizzard has extremely unfair workplace treatments for women, but Blizzard has been laissez-faire for safeguarding interests, and some male employees said they had also been sexually harassed but it was of no avail. In response to the lawsuit, Blizzard responded, accusing DFEH’s description of being distorted and false, stating that it described not today’s Blizzard workplace.

However, as the situation escalated, Blizzard sent a letter to all employees last week, apologizing for the company’s initial deaf ears to the allegations. At the same time, he also thanked the employees who bravely stood up in the past few days, saying that the company will act quickly, listen to everyone’s voice, respect the rights of victims, and ensure a safe working environment.

After the president resigned, Blizzard officially stated:

The two new leaders have made a firm commitment to all employees and promised to ensure that Blizzard will be a safe workplace for women and people of any gender, race or background. Jen and Mike will use caring, compassion and excellent Dedication to lead Blizzard.
