Windows Office Beta Build 14326.20004 adds WebP image format support

Microsoft has released a new Office Insider Preview Build 14329.20000 for Windows users registered in the Beta channel of the Office Insider program. The new version adds support for WebP image formats for Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Adding WebP images to documents is as easy as normal images. You can navigate to Insert > Picture > This device, and then select your image and click insert.

WebP is a modern image format that provides a better compression rate for publishing images to the Internet. We have now added support for WebP images in Office applications! To add WebP images to create in Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook, just go to the Insert tab and select Picture > This device, select your WebP image and click Insert.

  • Fixed an issue where Excel would clear the value of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo\Company in non- MSI Office installations.
