Google planning to introduce a full Chrome browsing experience for Fuchsia OS

Google is planning to introduce the full experience of the Chrome browser in Fuchsia OS. Over the years, the Fuchsia project and the Chromium project have had many overlaps and share code and hardware with Chrome OS.

To this day, the Fuchsia project still uses the Chromium engine, and Fuchsia smart home devices, including the original Nest Hub, still use search results from the Internet instead of directly providing answers by Google Assistant.

According to the Chromium BUG tracker, Google has been creating a Chrome browser installation package for Fuchsia OS since May this year, which means that Fuchsia OS will get a complete Google Chrome browser experience, supporting key functions including synchronization, And newer, relatively less important features like Click To Call.

As you might expect, adding support for a new operating system to the Chrome browser is not a small project. At the time of writing, there are more than 40 individual bugs filed. These are all things that need to be done to get Chrome up and running or things that need to be done shortly after Chrome runs on Fuchsia.
