Disney+ has 116 million paid users, nearly doubled YOY

Disney announced its third-quarter financial report today. Its streaming media platform Disney+ paid subscription users increased sharply from 57.5 million a year ago, and now it has increased to 116 million. Why is the growth so rapid? Mainly because users want to watch Marvel’s Rocky and Pixar’s Luca.

If Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu are added together, the number of paying subscribers reaches 174 million. Analysts are optimistic about the prospects of Disney +. They believe that the number of Disney+ subscribers will reach 230-260 million by 2024 because Disney continues to provide exclusive content.

However, there is bad news worth noting that the average user payment is declining. A year ago, the average monthly payment per subscriber for Disney+ was US$4.62. Now it has dropped to US$4.16. Disney’s revenue in the third fiscal quarter was US$17 billion, a year-on-year increase of 45%; profit was US$995 million, and a loss of US$4.8 billion in the same period last year was a significant improvement.
