Honor Magic 3/Pro series will get at least two major Android version upgrades

Last night, the new Honor Magic 3 series was officially released and will be sold separately on August 20. Pre-sales are currently open. Earlier news said that Honor Magic 3 models will only receive a major version of the Android operating system update. However, Honor CEO Zhao Ming has confirmed to the foreign media Android Authority that Magic 3 series phones will receive at least two major versions of Android operating system upgrades.

The Magic 3 series is pre-installed with Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11 and will also provide Google mobile services. Honor has not disclosed the global sale of the Magic 3 series. In addition, for the Magic 3 series models that did not use an under-screen camera, Zhao Ming said that the light transmittance during selfies and video calls is the biggest challenge for under-screen camera technology.

In research, the company found that in some backlight situations, the quality of many photos is unacceptable. Therefore, after a thorough evaluation, it was decided not to use the under-screen camera on the Magic 3 series. Honor has resumed business in more than 50 countries around the world, and the company will focus on resuming business in overseas markets this year.

The Honor 50 series, which debuted in China a few months ago, will be launched in more than 30 countries, and more products will be launched in the global market in the future. He also confirmed that the Honor phones sold in overseas markets will use Google mobile services.
