T-Mobile’s over 100 million customers’ data leaked, hackers boldly posted to sell

The well-known US operator T-Mobile said on Sunday that the company is investigating the allegations raised in an online forum post. The post stated that the personal data of more than 100 million users had been leaked.

A T-Mobile spokesperson said in a statement: We have noticed the allegations made by an underground forum and are actively investigating the authenticity. We have no more information to share at this time.

The US digital media Vice reported this data breach allegation for the first time. Vice’s technology website Motherboard stated that the post did not mention T-Mobile, but the hackers told Vice that they had obtained data from more than 100 million users, which came from T-Mobile servers, including social security accounts, mobile phone numbers, and names.

Actual address, driver’s license information. The hacker asked for 6 bitcoins in exchange for a data subset containing 30 million social security accounts and driver’s licenses, and the remaining data were sold privately.
