YouTube would be testing instant translation of video comments

Google is always ready to improve and enrich the user experience on YouTube and this time it would be ready to make a major change to the purely social part of the video streaming site, the comments. According to what Android Police colleagues unearthed, YouTube is testing the instant translation of comments on the platform and YouTube Premium users seem to have had early access to this function, which is still in an experimental phase.

The update would implement the Translate option under any comment that is not in our primary language, thus allowing us to translate it. Once translated, users will still be able to return to the comment in the original language by tapping on the wording View original.

The function would prove to be particularly convenient because it would allow you to interact with other users who do not speak our language and would open up a new world of debates and (hopefully civil) debates under the videos.

The feature is available on Android and iOS until 9 September and you can try it out in the experimental features section of the site. As mentioned above, the option is only available for YouTube Premium users, so there will still be a wait before it can reach the rest of the users in the final version of the application.
