Google quietly releases Fuchsia system upgrade for the Nest Hub

For the original Nest Hub, Google quietly released an upgrade to the Fuchsia system. This means that this mysterious project began to flow to consumers after years of opaque development. This operating system is different from the Android system. It is not based on the Linux system but based on a microkernel called Zircon.

Google confirmed to 9to5Google that the new firmware updates for non-preview Nest Hub devices include Fuchsia upgrades, which means that all first-generation devices should already or soon run Fuschia.

You might think that I have noticed that the device I watch every day and the device I interact with are running a brand new operating system, but Google is trying to make this experience as close to the same as possible.

Even the pokey performance on the first-generation Nest Hub seems to be very similar, good or bad. The only way to know that you have Fuchsia is to check the About Device section of the settings menu. Even so, the name of the operating system is not mentioned.
