Summary of new features of iOS 15 Beta 6

After a lapse of 1 week, Apple today released the 6th Beta version update of iOS 15. This update brings a lot of new features, redesigned Safari, removed SharePlay, watch face automation, and more.

Safari Redesigned

In iOS 15 Beta 6, Apple added a toggle switch that can move the Safari address bar to the top of the interface, which restores Safari to a design similar to iOS 14 and alleviates all Safari changes introduced in the early Beta version. Those who like the bottom bar can still choose to open it in the Tab Bar view, but Apple has also changed its appearance. The URL bar at the bottom has been merged with the dedicated control panel and no longer tries to merge all the page management options into a single address bar view.

Safari design options allow you to switch between the tab bar at the bottom or the individual tabs at the top, and there are also switches for disabling website coloring and enabling or disabling the horizontal tab bar. Allow site coloring appears to be the same as the Show colors in the tab bar setting available in the early beta. You can use the Aa menu in Safari to switch between the two views in Safari without having to access the Safari app.

Safari Bookmarks & History

When accessing Safari history, bookmarks, and reading list in iOS 15 and opening the bottom tab bar view, the interface appears from the bottom and takes up less screen space. After enabling Single Tab, the interface looks the same as before.

SharePlay Removed

Apple has temporarily removed this feature in this Beta version. When iOS 15 ‌, iPad OS 15, tvOS 15 and macOS Monterey are launched, there will be no SharePlay function available. Apple plans to reintroduce SharePlay in a later software update after the iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15 and macOS Monterey updates debut this fall.

Dial Automation

The fifth beta of iOS 15 removed the automation that automatically sets the watch face on the Apple Watch at a specific time, but in the sixth beta, the option is again available in the shortcut app.
