Microsoft Outlook for iOS adds support for .ics attachments

Microsoft announced today that the iOS version of the Outlook application now supports .ics attachments. ICS file is a common calendar file format supported by popular e-mail and calendar programs, including Microsoft Outlook.

With the support of ics attachments, Outlook for iOS users can open ics attachments, view event details and add them to their calendars. Recently, Microsoft announced a new support policy for the Outlook mail application for iOS. Under the new policy, Microsoft will only support two major versions of iOS and WatchOS systems, namely the current version and the previous version.

In other words, once the official version of Apple iOS 15 is released, the system requirements for Outlook for iOS will be updated to reflect the support for iOS 15. watchOS 7 and 8 will be the only system versions supported by the Apple Watch version of Outlook.
