According to the latest report, Netflix is introducing support for Spatial Audio features for iPhone and iPad users. When playing compatible content, Spatial Audio will be an option in the iOS 14/iOS 15 control center. However, to experience Spatial Audio smoothly, users also need to wear compatible audio peripherals such as AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.
It is expected that in the early stage of the release, Netflix will only test the experience of Spatial Audio for a small number of users. With Spatial Audio, users can feel sounds coming from multiple directions at the same time when wearing compatible headset peripherals, thereby obtaining a more immersive audio experience.
Apple said, Spatial Audio can make use of the iPhone, the iPad and compatible headphones gyroscope/accelerometer, for the user to create an immersive experience a similar theater. In addition, iOS 15 users can also access the Spatialize Stereo option on the Netflix user that is not compatible with Spatial Audio.
