The second season of the Netflix Witcher series will be officially aired in four months, but fans of the show are now wondering if there will be more content in the show. At present, the answer is not yet known, but the show’s producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed that the third season has not yet been renewed.
At the TCA summer press conference, Hissrich was asked whether The Witcher would have a third season. She said: There is no official contract renewal yet. In fact, I am focusing on the second season. We already have a broadcast date; it will be officially broadcast on December 17. There is still a lot of work to be done regarding post-production. So I rushed back and forth between Los Angeles and London to do this work. To be honest, this is where we are most concerned now because if we want to shoot the third season, we need the second season to be good enough.
Earlier in the day, Netflix announced a new creative partnership between Hissrich and Netflix, write Hissrich for this streaming media services company and making television drama content. She will continue to work in the Witcher episode and also serve as the executive producer of The Witcher: Origin of Blood and The Witcher: Nightmare of Wolf.
Hissrich said at the press conference: I am very happy to find a home on Netflix and can’t wait to continue this incredibly creative partnership.
