Apple’s future goal is to achieve Face ID under the screen

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned on the Power On program that although Apple has tested the use of under-screen touch ID on the next-generation iPhone, it will not appear this year. At the same time, the high-end iPhone in the future will continue to focus on face ID technology, and the ultimate goal is to realize the ID on the screen.

Although there are rumors every year that Apple is considering under-screen touch ID, it will not appear on the iPhone 13 series at least this year. Bloomberg gave two predictions:

  • The first type: high-end iPhone uses under-screen ID, low-end iPhone uses face ID with bangs.
  • The second type: high-end iPhone uses under-screen ID, low-end iPhone uses under-screen touch ID.

For the iPhone 13, the currently known news includes smaller bangs, 120Hz ProMotion high screen refresh, Pro model up to 1TB storage space, more powerful A15 chip, and a new camera sensor.
