Tesla’s sales ranked first in the global electric vehicle market in H1 2021

In the field of electric vehicles, Tesla is still the global hegemon. Statistics from SNE Research show that in the first half of the year, Tesla sold 390,000 vehicles globally, accounting for 22% of the market. The second place is SAIC-GM-Wuling, with sales of 190,000 vehicles, an increase of 13 times year-on-year, and its market share has also increased from 2% last year to 10.7%.

The third place is BYD, with a sales volume of 96,300 vehicles, and its share is basically the same as last year, with a slight increase of 5.4%. South Korea’s Hyundai sold 51,000 pure electric vehicles in the first half of the year. Although it doubled from last year, it ranked sixth.

In the plug-in hybrid market, BMW sold 106,000 vehicles, controlling as much as 12.9% of the market, followed by Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, and BYD ranked fourth, with sales increasing by 428% year-on-year.

In the pure electricity market, although the absolute gap in sales has been widened, if converted into share, the gap is actually narrowing. With the advancement of battery technology, the new energy automobile industry may usher in a new reshuffle this year. It is not yet known who will die.
