Windows Server 2022 preview version goes official

Microsoft’s server-oriented Windows Server 2022 system has been released in May this year in the preview version, currently, users can apply for a trial, download ISO files. According to ZDNet news, this operating system will include three versions: Standard Edition, Data Center Edition, and Data Center Azure Edition.

Microsoft quietly updated the introduction document page of Windows Server 2022 on August 18, stating that the operating system will provide 5 years of key support until October 13, 2026. In addition, extended support will end on October 14, 2031.

Microsoft also said that in the future, only the LTSC version of Windows Server will be released, with a major version update once a year, and no half-year version updates will be provided. Not only that, Microsoft officials said that they plan to release a new version of the Windows Server operating system every 2-3 years.

  • Use a more secure kernel to build multi-layer protection to deal with threats.

  • Apply the latest Windows Admin Center to better manage virtual devices.
  • Use the new solution in the storage migration service to facilitate the migration of files from on-premises to the Azure cloud platform.
  • Use smaller image files to improve deployment to speed up downloads and simplify network policy implementation.
  • Use brand new containerized tools to upgrade .NET applications in Windows Admin Center.
