Overall, the shipment of 5G smartphones in the Asia-Pacific region has more than doubled year-on-year, with a growth rate of 110%. Specifically, in the second quarter, Vivo’s market share was 20.0%, Xiaomi ranked second with 19.3%, OPPO ranked third with 18.7% market share; Apple ranked fourth. Samsung ranked fifth with a 6.6% share.
A senior analyst at Strategy Analytics, said: Vivo is a leading smartphone manufacturer in the Asia-Pacific region with annual shipment growth of 215%. In the past year, Vivo has surpassed Xiaomi, OPPO and Apple to become a 5G smartphone in the Asia-Pacific region. No. 1 in shipments. Vivo successfully took advantage of Huawei’s decline in market share (Huawei sold more than half of 5G smartphones in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 a year ago). Leading technology and affordable prices enable Vivo Smartphones, such as iQOOO U3 5G and iQOOO 7 5G, to have become the most popular 5G devices in the region.
The shipment growth rate of Xiaomi 5G mobile phones in the second quarter reached 286%. Among them, Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro 5G mobile phones, and Xiaomi 10 Youth Edition 5G are popular models. Director SA said that OPPO benefited from the new Reno 6 series, and the performance in the third quarter is very worth looking forward to. And Vivo needs to focus on the 5G mobile phone market in South Korea, Japan and other regions to promote future growth.
