Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors will launch the new mini-electric vehicles at the beginning of 2022

According to the latest News, Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors announced today that a new mini-electric vehicle (EV) jointly developed by the two companies will be launched in Japan in early 2022. The mini-electric car has a battery capacity of 20 kWh, and a battery life of approximately 170 kilometers on a single charge.

After the subsidy, the actual purchase price is expected to start at approximately 2 million yen. The vehicle has reduced costs through unified chassis and joint procurement of onboard batteries. The mini-electric vehicle has a total length of about 3.4 meters and a width of about 1.5 meters.

The small size can realize flexible turning and is convenient for users to drive. The car will also be equipped with driving assistance technology. Toyota Motor, Daihatsu Industry, and Suzuki are also jointly developing micro electric vehicles. Honda Motor plans to launch mini-electric vehicles in 2024.

Nissan plans to realize that all new vehicles sold in major markets will be electric in 2030, and Mitsubishi Motors also plans to realize that 50% of its global sales by 2030 will be electric.
