Google postpones the launch of the final version of Android 12

Android 12 undoubtedly represents one of the most important changes that Google has ever made to its mobile operating system, and not only with regard to the arrival of the new Material You graphics system. Evidently, the development team of the Mountain View giant realized that the time available before the defined launch of the new operating system was not enough to deliver a stable version and, without much fanfare, decided to postpone its release.

Another beta before the official launch

In fact, as you can see in the images below that reflect the classic beta release timeline (for developers and public), between the beta 4.1 of Android 12 August and the Final Release, another dot now appears to signal the presence of the fifth beta of Android 12, possibly the one that in jargon is defined as GM.

The postponement of the launch of the stable version of Android 12 beyond the allotted time minimizes the possibility that Google has an event scheduled for September 13, which was branded as impossible even by Prosser a few hours ago. The delay, even of a couple of weeks, although annoying, is certainly welcome if it means receiving a version of the operating system free of bugs and optimized in its deepest parts.
