CDPR revenue increases by 29% in the first half of 2021, but profits decline by 28%

CD Projekt recently released its first half of 2021 financial report. In the first half of 2021, CDPR revenue increased by 29% to $124 million. This is mainly dependent on the continued sales growth of Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 and its expansion packs. Profit fell 28% to 27.6 million US dollars.

Although physical game sales increased by only 5% compared to the same period last year, digital games increased by 32%. This reflects the shift in the way players buy CDPR games. In addition, there has been a major shift in the place of purchase. CDPR reported that sales in Europe fell by 52% in the first half of 2021, while sales in North America increased by 94%.

CD Projekt said that despite the increase in total revenue, its profits are still affected by Cyberpunk 2077. In addition, the repair and follow-up development team of Cyberpunk 2077 also accounted for part of the expenditure.
