BMW launches i Vision AMBY electric bike with a maximum range of 300 KM

BMW released an electric bicycle called i Vision AMBY, which is a pedal electric bicycle with an electric drive system. i Vision AMBY provides three speeds: 25 km/h for bicycle lanes, 45 km/h for city center roads, and 60 km/h for multi-lane roads. The BMW i Vision AMBY uses geofences to understand the location of the bike so that it can automatically adjust its top speed.

As an electric bicycle, BMW i Vision AMBY requires the rider to pedal constantly. The appearance of the BMW i Vision AMBY is also different from that of a standard electric bicycle. The design of AMBY doesn’t look very slim, but it looks very thick, strong and durable.

BMW claims that its design is a combination of electric bicycles and racing cars. There is also a small smartphone pad under the handlebar, which can be used for navigation. In addition, there is a small LED light strip under the handlebar, which not only looks cool but also helps to ride safely at night.

BMW i Vision AMBY has quite a few safety features, including an ABS system, automatic high beam assist system, brake light assist system, daytime riding lights, and even a distance sensor. When a vehicle approaches the rear of the bicycle, it will The rider makes a sound prompt.

Installed in the center of the frame is a 2000Wh battery pack that can provide up to 300 kilometers of battery life. Installed next to the pedals is an electric drive device, which sends power to the rear wheels through a toothed belt, and only when the rider steps on it will power. There is a suspension stroke of 120 mm to handle various road surfaces.

The integrated brake system, coupled with the internally routed cables, gives the bicycle a very smooth and streamlined appearance. The rear wheel can be removed quickly and easily, and the front wheel is traditionally disassembled with screws. The battery can even be removed and stored separately.

Although bicycles generally do not have a key, BMW i Vision AMBY has a digital key function. Using a smartphone, you can load license information for certain speed limits of the bicycle, and even instantly update any required insurance. Through the BMW app, you can also check the battery status and range, and get OTA updates. There is also a free programmable anti-theft device that allows intelligent remote anti-theft.

BMW also launched a BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY, which is similar to i Vision AMBY, but with some more sporty adjustments. The Motorrad version has a slightly different frame. It has a unique single-sided rear swingarm that connects to the rear wheels and has thicker tires, but the biggest difference between the two is that the Motorrad version does not require the rider to pedal. i Vision AMBY requires the rider to step on the pedal to provide electric assistance, while the Motorrad version has a throttle mounted on the grip that can provide electric acceleration on its own.
