Windows 10 21H2 provided pre-release verification for commercial PCs

The Windows 10 21H2 feature update has provided pre-release verification for commercial PCs. This will allow IT administrators responsible for PC management to download and test Windows 10 21H2 feature updates before the October 2021 release. The update range of this function is not large, mainly focusing on fixing BUG and optimizing the background.

In the commercial test plan, Microsoft is pushing Windows 10 21H2 feature updates through various methods such as Windows Update, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and Azure Marketplace. In addition, Microsoft has also released ISO images.

It is worth noting that the above changes only apply to commercial customers. If you have a Windows home or professional license in the Beta or Release Preview channel, you do not need to take any action. This change is just for verification in the organization.

The update will appear under Optional Updates on commercial devices through Windows Update. If the device meets the hardware requirements, you will also see a Windows 11 notification. For commercial testing, Windows 11 requires the installation of the optional cumulative update for Windows 10 (KB5005101) released on September 1. This may also be a requirement of consumer devices.

Because Microsoft is busy developing Windows 11, the October 20th update of Windows 10 and later versions will be a bit small. However, Microsoft has worked hard on some enterprise functions. For example, Windows 10 will get support for GPU computing in Windows Subsystem for Linux. This allows developers and users to run graphics-intensive programs in Linux containers. For example, WSL will now support machine learning and other computationally intensive workflows.
