Android 12 Beta 5 brings some improvements to the clock calculator UI and widget functions

As Google released the last Beta version of Android 12 today, early adopters quickly discovered some interesting changes introduced in Beta 5. These include cute-shaped geometric clock widgets, a redesigned calculator app, and novel lock screen shortcuts. First of all, 9to5Google mentioned some adjustments to the clock application, such as updated designs, new animations, and color schemes that can respond to changes in mobile phone themes.

Secondly, Android 12 Beta 5 finally introduced the Material You material style for the native calculator application, supplemented by soft colors + interesting button design. In addition, XDA pointed out that Google has provided a new set of device control shortcuts for the lock screen of Android 12 Beta 5. After waking up the phone screen, you can easily control the connected smart home devices with just one tap.

The device controls have been transferred from the Android 11 power menu to the quick setting bar, and can now be called in another more convenient way while supporting the “lock screen display Google Wallet” shortcut function introduced by Android 12 Beta 2.

Finally, Android Police reported that Android 12 Beta 2 brings an improvement to the search bar function for all Pixel device users. For any content entered by the user (except for the search application and Google search), it can now also display settings, contacts, and other content. Although in the previous beta version, we have seen such a feature prompt (in the form of a setting screen/API), Android 12 Beta 5 means the official activation of related features.
