Microsoft Xbox One controller new firmware update brings quickly switch between paired devices

Microsoft today began testing the new firmware updates for the Xbox One controller (Bluetooth required), Xbox Elite Controller 2 and Xbox Accessible Controller, which will bring some important improvements. The biggest new addition is the ability to quickly switch between paired devices on the Xbox controller, and dynamic delay input (DLI) has been added to improve the input delay on the old controller.

Fast switching refers to the low-power Bluetooth support for compatible controllers, allowing the controller to remember the user’s Bluetooth device and Xbox host, and quickly switch between connected devices by double-clicking the pairing button. Dynamic Delay Input (DLI) is a technology added by Microsoft to the Xbox Series X/S controller, which can reduce the input delay of the controller and make the game operation more responsive.

Daniel Ruiz, product marketing manager for Xbox accessories, said: We believe that it is important to maintain backward compatibility with the Xbox accessories that people already have in their collections and to ensure that we provide the best gaming experience (regardless of how you choose to play). Microsoft has pushed new firmware to the handles of Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Xbox Insiders users, and it is expected to push it for the above Xbox handle users in the next few months.
