The new beta of Niagara Launcher gives a nod to folding smartphones

Niagara Launcher is one of the most popular solutions for Android users looking for a launcher with which to customize their smartphone and with the latest update of the beta channel some new features and better support for folding devices have been introduced.

As we learn from XDA Developers, with the new beta version of the launcher the developer team introduces better support for large displays and on devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G the list of apps and the scroll bar are moved further away. from the edges, so that the content is more easily accessible.

The launcher with this beta also supports dynamic icon resizing and can automatically change the size of app icons based on the current screen height. Smaller icon sizes have also been added, which can be accessed by going to the launcher’s Settings menu, scrolling to the Appearance section and then selecting the Application Icon Size option.

With this update, support for the App Continuity functionality is also implemented, thanks to which users have the possibility to resume from where they left off by switching from the external display to the internal one or by rotating the screen.

Niagara Launcher now also supports external hardware devices such as a keyboard, mouse and stylus pen and adds two shortcuts:

  • Typing a letter starts the app search directly.
  • Typing a number starts the app that corresponds to it in the list.

Finally, with this beta, a new wallpaper called Threefold is introduced and made specifically for folding devices (you can access it by going to the launcher Settings menu, scrolling to the section dedicated to appearance and then selecting the item dedicated to wallpapers).
