Tesla has begun to release the beta 10 version of Full Self Driving to selected users who are part of the program that allows you to experiment in advance with the new advanced driving assistance features of the Autopilot on which the American manufacturer is working. There was a lot of anticipation for the release of this update as Elon Musk had called it mind-blowing. The new software arrived as part of the 2020.24.15 update.
According to some users, the interface appears cleaner and tidier than before. As regards, instead, the most important aspect and that is the behavior on the road, according to the communications of Elon Musk the beta 10 should improve the decision-making skills of the system. The testers highlight a safer behavior of the car in managing certain driving aspects such as curves, roundabouts and intersections. Thanks to the new software, moreover, Tesla was able to walk the winding stretch of Lombard Street in San Francisco without any human intervention.
Obviously, it is still too early to draw a definitive conclusion. To really judge the beta 10 it will be necessary to wait a few more days and the impression of many more testers to understand the actual improvements and any critical issues present. However, Elon Musk has always been pretty optimistic about the qualities of this update.
If there are no particular hitches, Tesla could release version 10.1 already in a couple of weeks. Release that will bring several new features, especially for highway driving. Version 10.1 may also introduce the long-awaited button that will allow all interested American customers to be able to join the beta program which is currently by invitation only.
