LineageOS 18.1 now supports ASUS ZenFone 8, POCO X3 NFC and more

The LineageOS is one of the custom ROM most popular and appreciated in circulation today and the latest version, the 18.1-based Android 11 released a few months ago, continues to lengthen the list of supported devices, which now also includes the compact top ASUS ZenFone 8, the cheap POCO X3 NFC, the old Sony Xperia Z2 and more.

If you are also passionate about modding, you will surely have noticed that the Android devices supported by LineageOS 18.1 are now very numerous: next to the most famous OnePlus 9 Pro, POCO F3, various Samsung and Google Pixel, there are also very old smartphones and semi-known.

Even the list of new additions that we report today is varied in the same way: together with ASUS ZenFone 8, which is in effect a top of the range of 2021 even if small in size, we find in fact an ex best-buy like POCO X3 NFC, an old glory like Sony Xperia 2, but also Lenovo Z5 Pro GT with its sliding screen and the SHIFT SHIFT6mq carnage.

At the time of writing, the POCO X3 NFC wiki page gives an error, however, the problem should already be fixed and the page should soon be reachable. Of course, before even moving on to the useful links to download the LineageOS 18.1 for the models mentioned, it is good to remember – but, if you are here, you probably already know – that it is necessary to have the bootloader unlocked and a custom recovery such as TWRP.

In addition to this, it should be borne in mind that Google apps are not included, so the GApps package must be installed separately. Each page that you will find linked below also includes the step-by-step guide for installing the ROM.

That said, here are the useful links:

  • ASUS ZenFone 8 (Maintainters: ZVNexus and cryptomilk): sake
  • Lenovo Z5 Pro GT (Maintainters: themard and optionaltoast): heart
  • POCO X3 NFC: Surya
  • SHIFT SHIFT6mq (Maintainers: amartinz and joey): axolotl
