The September cumulative update KB5005565 is available for Windows 10 21H1, 20H2 and 2004 versions. Today’s patch contains several security bug fixes and general quality improvements for all supported versions. It resolves a security vulnerability called MSHTML (CVE-2021-40444).

Users of the 21H1 version will upgrade to Build 19043.1237, users of 20H2 will upgrade to Build 19042.1237, and users of the 2004 version will upgrade to Build 19041.1237.

Microsoft has discovered issues that may cause Windows updates to fail. This error was discovered after users applied the June 21, 2021 (KB5003690) update, and they started to receive the update error PSFX_E_MATCHING_BINARY_MISSING.
