The September cumulative update KB5005565 is available for Windows 10 21H1, 20H2 and 2004 versions. Today’s patch contains several security bug fixes and general quality improvements for all supported versions. It resolves a security vulnerability called MSHTML (CVE-2021-40444).
Users of the 21H1 version will upgrade to Build 19043.1237, users of 20H2 will upgrade to Build 19042.1237, and users of the 2004 version will upgrade to Build 19041.1237.
Main Highlights:
- The Bluetooth problem has now been fixed.
- The Windows update page problem has been fixed;
- Resolved an error that may prevent users from minimizing the application window;
- Solved the problem that using USB to connect audio devices and a third-party driver may prevent the use of the headset;
- The user cannot type in the user name box during the Win10 setting screen. This problem has occurred on the PC using the Chinese Input Method Editor (IME);
- This update also fixes an issue that may cause the device to crash when the user tries to use gestures using touch input such as the touchpad;
- Fixed the black screen problem of the external monitor. When the user restarts the desktop from sleep mode, the black screen error is reported;
- Resolved quality issues when streaming standard dynamic range (SDR) content on high dynamic range (HDR) displays.
Microsoft has discovered issues that may cause Windows updates to fail. This error was discovered after users applied the June 21, 2021 (KB5003690) update, and they started to receive the update error PSFX_E_MATCHING_BINARY_MISSING.
