Google Drive, Duo, Photos, Calendar and Keep embrace the Material You design

The Google developer team continues to introduce elements of Material You in the various applications of the Mountain View giant and the latest in the series are Google Drive, Google Duo, Google Photos, Google Calendar and Google Keep.

Here is the new Google Drive design

Starting with Google Drive, with version 2.21.330.x the developer team implemented some changes inspired by the Material You design, such as a lower high bar that uses pill-shaped indicators to highlight the current tab you are viewing, the dynamic color support and a pill-shaped search field at the top. With version 2.21.357.x new Material You style widgets with various sizes and options have also been introduced. You can download the latest versions of Google Drive from APK Mirror.

Google Duo changes its appearance

Also for Google Duo, the time has come to change the design and with version 149.0.39583153 the developer team has introduced full support for Material You. Among the novelties, we find a search bar with rounded corners, support for dynamic colors and greater care in choosing the appearance (and coloring) of each element of the interface. You can download the latest versions of Google Duo from APK Mirror.

How the design of Google Photos changes

Also for Google Photos, the time has come to embrace Material You, the new design language introduced by the Mountain View giant with Android 12. Some users are viewing a new version of the app, characterized by elements with rounded corners, an oval search bar and other small changes but all the new features of Material You (such as dynamic colors) are not yet supported. These changes do not seem to be related to a specific version of the app and it will probably be with the release of Android 12 that the graphic revolution will be completed.

On Google Calendar, the changes are less noticeable

Compared to other redesigns, the Material You version of Google Calendar is pretty simple and doesn’t introduce revolutions but the widgets benefit from a handy tweak. The main novelty is represented by the support for dynamic colors, thanks to which users will see some elements of the interface change. As for the widgets, the Calendar at the top shows only the month and no longer the precise date, which is inserted in a circle below while the top right now has a plus sign to quickly create an event. These changes were found in the 2021.37.0 version of Google Calendar, which can be downloaded from APK Mirror.

Google Keep also embraces Material You

Even in the case of Google Keep, the redesign of the app is quite simple and starts with a flat search field in the shape of a pill, presenting elements with rounded corners. More interesting is the redesign of the widgets, starting from the one for quick acquisition in the shape of an X, thanks to which it is possible to create a new list, a drawing, a voice recording or an image note. These changes were introduced with version 5.21.361. The latest releases of Google Keep can be downloaded from APK Mirror.
