Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro approved by the FCC

Although Google started the marketing warm-up very early, the Pixel 6 series of smartphones have been unable to obtain the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification, which means that it is still a long way from being listed.

The latest news is that two mobile devices that have been long-awaited by fans have finally been approved by the agency recently. As for the cumbersome review process, it is mainly to ensure that the equipment frequency meets the specifications and will not cause any interference or harm to other equipment and users.

Under normal circumstances, mobile phone manufacturers will only vigorously promote the product after the product is released and listed, but Google has chosen a unique marketing plan for the Pixel 6. In the past period of time, we have seen it in TV commercials (TVC) and billboards (Billboards), and the company even put the real machine in a New York retail store for display.

Earlier, we also saw promotional videos titled For All You Are and Original Potato Chips (self-developed chip puns) on YouTube’s Made by Google channel. The former shows various mobile phone usage scenarios of different users, while the latter directly hints at many selling points of Pixel 6.

WCCFTech pointed out: On Monday morning, a total of four device models appeared on the FCC website. Among them, the Pixel 6 Pro model has two code names, GLU0G and G8VOU, and the Pixel 6 model also has two derivative versions, G9S9B and GB7N6.

In addition to the body size, the most significant difference between the two should be that only the Pro model is confirmed to support Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology. Specifically, Google has registered Channel 5/9 for Pixel 6 Pro, which means that users can use it to achieve close-range precise positioning and unlock it as a digital car key for smart cars.

In addition, although both devices provide models that support millimeter wave (mmWave), the Pixel 6 Pro model has an additional n258 5G frequency band. Finally, although Google has not disclosed the launch time of the Pixel 6 series of smartphones, it is generally expected that the window will be in the end of September to the beginning of October, and it will be immediately available for sale in retail channels.
