Edge may soon replace the existing Collections feature with Followable Web

MSPU quoted Reddit user, Leo Varela, like a revelation: Microsoft seems to be developing a new feature for Edge 96 Canary, which is said to be similar to Pinboard, which can be used to organize and summarize Web content and may be expected to replace the current Collections collection in the future. Interested friends can find the #edge-folloable-view tag in Edge Canary and see the following description:

Try the followable web test feature:

  • Your existing favorites will not be automatically migrated, but the followable web feature will come soon, and you will be able to switch back at any time.
  • Secondly, this feature is applicable to Edge Canary on Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms.

MSPU pointed out that although the official description is somewhat ambiguous, it is likely to be related to the new “Follow” being developed by the Chrome browser. It is guessed that the Follow function will allow web browser users to easily follow a specific website, and get the most recently updated content in the follow tab of the discovery section of Chrome.

As for whether this novel RSS reader experience will be more popular with users than Pinboard, it is currently unknown. But what is certain is that it will at least be much more practical than the current MSN message flow.
