Windows 10 KB5005611 (21H1) released contains a series of bug fixes

KB5005611 is now available for Windows 10 21H1, 20H2 (updated in October 2020) and 2004. The update was launched through Windows Update and WSUS for Business, but Microsoft also released a direct download link for the offline installer of Windows 10 KB5005611.

Windows 10 KB5005611 is an optional update, so it will not be downloaded or installed automatically unless you manually select the update and click the Download and Install option. This patch does not include security fixes, but it does have a long list of general improvements and bug fixes.

KB5005611 will upgrade the 21H1 version of the system to Windows 10 Build 19043.1266. On the other hand, version 20H2 (updated in October 2020) will get Windows 10 19042.1266. Similarly, this cumulative preview update will appear as Build 19041.1202 on devices still running Windows 10 2004 version.

Support for the 2004 version of Windows 10 will end in December, and Microsoft will soon stop releasing optional updates for it. On your device, when you check for updates today, the following updates will appear on the screen:

  • 2021-09 Preview of the cumulative update for Windows 10 version 20H2 for x64-based systems (KB5005611)
