The day of Android 12 has finally arrived but Google has played a trick on the owners of the Pixel, who were anxiously awaiting the release of the new version of the green robot for their smartphone. The American giant has in fact published the code on the AOSP, in all probability in a stable version, but has not released OTA or factory image updates for the Pixel series.
A decidedly strange move by Google, which in the past always had images available for their smartphones in conjunction with the launch of the new version on the AOSP, if not even in advance. For those who are not developers, therefore, this is news of marginal importance, while developers and modding experts will be able to get their hands on the code and start discovering all the news in detail.
Owners of a supported Pixel smartphone, from the Pixel 3 series to the most recent Pixel 5a, will therefore have to put their hearts in peace and wait for the next few weeks when both the factory images and the OTA updates will be released. It is possible that Google has decided to postpone the release of the update for the Pixels, pairing it with the presentation of the Pixel 6 series which should be scheduled in a couple of weeks. October patch for the Pixel series
Small and meager consolation for owners of a Pixel smartphone, who can download the security patches for the month of October. The update is available for the Pixel 3 series up to the 5a model. As always, simply enter the Settings of your Pixel, find the System, Advanced, System Update item and check for the update.
