Survey: Compared with iOS 14, iOS 15 has a lower install rate in the first two weeks of its official version

According to the latest report, in mid-September, two days after iOS 15 was released, a survey showed that it took longer for users to upgrade to iOS 15 than it took to upgrade to iOS 14. Two weeks later, the install rate of iOS 15 is still lower than last year.

Data from the analysis company Mixpanel shows that only 8.59% of users have updated their devices within 48 hours of the official iOS 15 release. In contrast, when iOS 14 was released in the same period last year, this figure was 14.68%. Nearly 15 days have passed, and the installation speed of iOS 15 is still lower than the previous generation.

Mixpanel said that as of October 5, 2021, the adoption rate of iOS 15 was 22.22%. On October 5, 2020, 41.97% of users have installed iOS 14. It should be noted that Mixpanel measures iOS adoption based on website and app visits using its mobile analytics SDK, so this data is not official data and may not be completely accurate, but last year’s data was obtained in the same way. As of now, Apple has not announced the number of iOS 15 users.

In addition, earlier this year, Apple announced that iPhone users who still use iOS 14 can choose to continue receiving important security updates.
