Hitman 3 revenue far exceeds expectations, three IO Interactive projects are under development

Recently, IO Interactive announced the financial report for the 2021 fiscal year. According to the financial report, the revenue of Hitman 3 far exceeded expectations. At the same time, it created the highest revenue and profit in IO Interactive’s history.

The revenue of Hitman 3 tripled expected, creating about $78 million in revenue and $42 million in profit, which is twice the revenue of Hitman (2016) and Hitman: Pardon. The profit of $42 million is also 6.5 times the profit of IO Interactive in the 2018 fiscal year after its independence from SE.

Currently IO Interactive has three projects under development:

  • Online content of Hitman 3;
  • The recently released 007 (James Bond) game;
  • The unannounced new IP game is rumored to be Project Dragon developed for the Xbox platform.

In order to develop these games, IO Interactive is currently recruiting heavily and plans to increase the number of employees from 200 to 400 in the next few years. The three studios are located in Copenhagen, Malmo and Barcelona.
