Adobe Photoshop iPadOS version will soon support RAW images, including ProRAW photos taken by iPhone 13 Pro/12 Pro

According to the latest reports, Adobe announced today that Photoshop on the iPad will soon support Adobe Camera RAW, which will enable Photoshop iPad users to import, open and edit RAW files. Adobe’s demo video shared on YouTube emphasized this upcoming feature but did not provide details on when it will be launched.

According to Adobe, RAW image support will apply to file types from DNG to Apple ProRAW, the latter being the RAW file format on iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro models. RAW files can be edited like other images, and users can adjust aspects such as exposure and noise, and use Photoshop’s lossless editing and automatic adjustment tools.

Camera Raw files can be easily adjusted and imported as ACR smart objects. This method allows users to open their edited file in Photoshop on Mac or Windows, and still have access to the embedded original file and any adjustments made to it. You can watch a demonstration of the new Adobe Camera Raw feature in Photoshop for iPad in the video below. Photoshop for iPad is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud plan. The photography plan starts at $9.99 per month and is available for use.
