AirPods Pro service plan for sound problems extended from the 2 years to 3 years

For AirPods Pro sold before October 2020, Apple has launched an AirPods Pro service plan for sound problems. These problems may cause static electricity, crackling noises, or active noise reduction problems during daily use. At the time, Apple stated that the plan would cover the 2 years after AirPods Pro retail. Now, Apple quietly extended the service from the original 2 years to 3 years.

Apple’s official website wrote

Apple has confirmed that a small number of AirPods Pro may experience sound problems. The production date of the affected equipment is before October 2020.

The affected AirPods Pro may have one or more of the following conditions:

  • Make popping or static noise, and increase in noisy environments, during exercise, or during calls
  • The active noise reduction function does not work properly, such as lack of bass effect, or increased background sound (such as street noise or airplane noise), etc.

Apple or Apple authorized service providers will repair the affected AirPods Pro (left, right or both earphones) for free.

Note: Other AirPods models are not covered by this plan
