Parallels Desktop 17.1 update fully supports macOS Monterey and Windows 11

Parallels Desktop 17.1 update, the software now fully supports macOS Monterey as the host operating system (OS), and also improves the user experience of running macOS Monterey in the Apple M1 Mac virtual device.

The latest update also includes improvements to Windows 11 virtual device (VM) support and stability, and the introduction of virtual platform trusted modules (vTPM) for all future Windows 11 virtual devices by default.

Users of all versions of Parallels Desktop 17 (Standard, Pro and Business) can use the virtual platform trusted module (vTPM) added by default to run Windows 11 to meet the minimum requirements of Windows 11. Run macOS Monterey virtual device on Apple M1 Mac to get a better user experience!

Now, Parallels Desktop 17.1 users can install Parallels Tools in the macOS Monterey virtual device on the Apple M1 Mac, and use the integrated copy and paste function between the virtual device and the main macOS. In addition, the default disk size of the virtual device has been increased from 32 GB to 64 GB.

This update provides support for VirGL in Virtio GPU, implements ready-to-use Linux 3D acceleration on all supported Mac computers, improves visual performance, and uses the Wayland protocol in Linux virtual devices. Even if Parallels Tools is not installed, modern Linux virtual devices can still use VirGL 3D graphics, but Parallels recommends that users still install Parallels Tools.
