Final Fantasy 4 Pixel Remaster removes the classic easter egg SE official explanation

SE’s Final Fantasy Pixel Remake series of games is a pleasant way to experience classic old games. The remake of the first six games in the series has been remade, and it is now officially launched to Final Fantasy 4 Pixel Remake. This remake has almost all the content of the original game, but there are still a few things missing. One of them is an iconic easter egg known as the developer’s office.

In the original game, this is a secret area hidden on the side of the bar in the dwarf castle. If players enter this area, they will be able to meet with members of the game development team. The development members will break the fourth wall and convey some information about the game to the players. This menu has been restored in different re-releases of Final Fantasy 4, including the 3D remake, but unfortunately, it was erased in the Pixel Remake.

In an interview with Famitsu, Tomita Takashi, producer of Pixel Remake, explained that they actually want to keep this easter egg in the remake, but because this behavior needs to be confirmed by the staff of the original version. They asked some members whether they could keep their messages in Pixel Remake, but noticed that some of the messages left by the development team at the time might not be applicable, and the team could only discard the easter egg. Final Fantasy 4 Pixel Remake can now be played on mobile devices and PCs.
