Google Play Data Safety begins to accept applications from developers

Privacy protection has become a hot topic in the technology industry in recent years, especially in the mobile field. Google has been working hard to change the image of the lack of privacy protections in the Android system.

Recently, a new feature-Data Safety has been introduced in Google Play to let users know what applications have done to their data. Of course, this did not happen in a vacuum. Google is now pushing developers to start submitting the required information before enforcement in 2022.

Various applications collect various user data, including more sensitive information such as mobile phone model and email address. Now, Google is using the advantages of its Google Play platform to let developers more candidly explain what data they collect, how they collect it, and how they handle it.

Google announced this new Data Safety section in July last year, it will appear in the description of each application in the Google Play store, and it is now starting the submission process. Developers will have to submit the necessary information for this new system to work, and they can start doing so now. Google acknowledges that the work involved will not be trivial, but it promises that it will make things as simple as possible.

This Data Safety application description is estimated to be online in February 2022, and developers need to declare the required information after April 2022. All apps on the Google Play Store will be required to comply with this privacy policy, and those who do not want to comply will see their apps or update submissions rejected until they comply.
