The Google Pixel 6 follows the competition and doesn’t have the included charger

After months of anticipation, yesterday the time has come for the official launch of the Google Pixel 6 series smartphones, devices that will also arrive in our country at the beginning of next year. Apparently, even the Mountain View giant has decided to adapt to the current trend that sees a decrease in the number of accessories included in the sales packages of the new smartphones: and so, if until a few years ago even protective cases were often added. Now manufacturers with the motivation of protecting the environment do not even insert the charger and earphones.

Underlying this trend is the goal of preventing huge quantities of cheap wall chargers and earphones from quickly turning into electronic waste and, therefore, the solution found by various manufacturers is to not include them in the sales packages and leave them to the users the ability to purchase them separately in case they feel they need them.

Well, Google has decided to follow this example with the Google Pixel 6 series, which will not be able to count on a wall charger included in the sales package. We remind you that with Google Pixel 6 the maximum charging speed via cable goes from 18 W to 30 W but those who want to take advantage of this feature must purchase the appropriate charger, available on the Google Store for 25 dollars (it can be added to the cart even during the purchase of the smartphone).

Fortunately, Google doesn’t use a proprietary charging method to reach fast speeds (unlike other manufacturers), and therefore any third-party USB PD charger that supports charging at 30W (or higher) should work flawlessly with the Google series. Probably even more users would appreciate Google’s decision if the manufacturer allowed to buy the charger at a discounted price together with the new smartphone.
