Edge browser 95 version released

Microsoft officially pushed the official version of Edge browser v95 today, the version number is 95.0.1020.30. This update brings a Windows 11- style right-click menu with a translucent frosted glass effect. In addition, the PDF reader function of the browser has been further enhanced.

The right-click menu of Edge 95 uses a slightly rounded corner design, with shadow effects around it, and the shadows are still looming on a pure black background. Menu item icons are consistent with Win11 style and provide shortcut key prompts.

The following is a detailed update log:

  • Edge already supports viewing SharePoint Online library files in File Explorer.
  • Intranet zone file URL (intranet zone file link) will open in Windows File Explorer. Users can achieve this function by enabling the IntranetFileLinksEnabled policy.
  • Improve the download experience. The current internal download function of the browser already supports Web PWA applications and WebView. In addition, the browser also supports dragging files directly to the file explorer and desktop.
  • The PDF browser already supports memorizing the reading position. After opening Edge again, the user can continue to read the PDF from the last place.
  • A new energy-saving mode has been added to improve the energy consumption of the Edge browser after the power-saving mode of the notebook is turned on. When the notebook enters the power-saving mode, the browser’s power-saving mode will be activated. This mode will provide multiple options: turn on when unplugged, turn on when the battery is low, always-on, never Turn on.
  • Supports adding free-form text boxes for annotations to PDF documents.
  • Added support for citations and reading lists in favorites, especially for students and researchers.
  • There are fewer steps to change the website’s default save the password, and the number of mouse clicks is reduced.
  • Automatically create an account function. This feature allows users to automatically fill in fields in the input box when creating an account on a third-party website and supports the free selection of items through a drop-down list. In addition, the browser will automatically generate a suggested password. It should be noted that this feature is currently only available on a limited number of websites.
