Blizzard CEO takes the initiative to ask for a salary cut and only get the minimum wage before the problem is solved

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said he has requested that before the company successfully implements new measures to resolve sexual harassment and sexual discrimination lawsuits, he will be paid the minimum wage, which is $62,500.

In an open letter sent to all employees, Kotick said that Activision Blizzard is making five new commitments to address the company’s ongoing reports of harassment and discrimination.

Kotick said in the open letter:

  • I have asked our board to reduce my total compensation until the board decides that we have achieved the aforementioned gender-related transformation goals and other commitments.
  • Specifically, I have asked the board of directors to reduce my salary to the minimum salary required by California law, which is $62,500 this year.
  • It needs to be explained that this is not just my salary, but a reduction in my overall salary. I request not to receive any bonus or equity during this time.
