Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro factory images available

Following the official presentation of the Google Pixel 6 series, the two new smartphones of the Mountain View giant have literally conquered the mobile sector scene and this only confirms that the interest of enthusiasts and professionals for these two phones is quite high.

Among the aspects that arouse more curiosity, there is obviously Google Tensor, the first processor developed directly by the Mountain View giant and which should guarantee a significant improvement in terms of performance, thanks also to the optimization of the integration between software and hardware.

In the past few hours, the Google team has published all the tools, files and documentation necessary for developers interested in running custom software on the company’s two new phones.

Factory images represent a very important aspect for those who want to buy one of these devices, as they simplify the experimentation with the software (they guarantee that you always have an option at your disposal to return to a working device in case things should go wrong).

Those who want to return to the stock software must extract and flash the factory image firmware for their device (there are four series, three for US variants and another for unlocked units). The released packages build version SD1A.210817.01x, which corresponds to the Android security patch level of October 2021.

The Mountain View giant has also published the Kernel Source Code of Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro (you can find it here) and the Device Tree (you can find it here), as well as the Device Tree of Common SoC Elements “gs101” (you can find it here) and the SEPolicy (you can find it here).
