Microsoft integrates Office features more deeply in the Edge browser

Microsoft seems to be working hard to enhance the integration and linkage between the Edge browser and Office on the web. Reddit community user u/Leopeva64-2 pointed out that the latest version of Edge Canary has a new option in the right-click menu of the tab.

If you right-click on a tab in the window, you will get an updated right-click menu, and there will now be an option called New Office tab. After clicking this option, it will be further refined, such as Word Document, Powerpoint Presentation and Excel Workbook.

Clicking on any of the detailed options will open the related Office web applications that are synchronized with your OneDrive account in the browser. Although there is currently no switching function to disable this specific configuration in the tab right-click menu, if this function is eventually extended to stable channels, it is not surprising that there is such a function.

It is worth noting that this feature is still being tested in the preview channel, so there is no guarantee that it will be available to the public. And Microsoft is currently testing this feature on a small scale, so not all Canary channel users will receive this feature.
