In the Safari technology preview update released today, Apple added 120Hz refresh rate scrolling support for the browser. This new feature partially solves the Safari problem that users have been complaining about after the new MacBook Pro was released. Previously, users complained that although the new Mac supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Apple’s own browser is limited to working at 60Hz.
Apple wrote in the update release note: Updated the smooth scroll animation to run at 120Hz on a 120Hz monitor.” Due to frame rate limitations, there have been many complaints about Safari’s pause and rough scrolling on 120Hz MacBook Pro models. Apple seems to be solving this problem in the Safari Technical Preview update.

The Safari technology preview version designed by Apple is to test the features that may be introduced into future releases of Safari, so after the 120Hz refresh rate update has been thoroughly tested in this browser, we should see it being introduced into the main version of Safari.
