According to the latest report, Microsoft today pushed the Windows 11 Build 22504 preview version for Dev channel users.
The highlights of this update are:
- The 13 themes of the touch keyboard are extended to other input experiences, including input methods, emoji panels, and voice input. The new version also adds the function of personalized emoji combinations based on the faces and skin colors of family members, loving couples, kissing and holding hands.
- Your mobile App has launched a new design for Dev channel user testing.
- Due to the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, many members of the team plan to take a week off, so there will be no Win11 Dev preview release next week.
New Content:
- In order to further personalize the Windows text input experience, Microsoft has expanded the 13 themes of the touch keyboard, which are now applicable to other input experiences, including keyboard input methods, emoji panels, and voice input. In addition, the theme engine allows users to create fully customized themes, including background images. Users can find these settings under the Text Input section under Settings> Personalization.
- Added the function of personalized emoji combinations based on the faces and skin colors of family members, loving couples, kissing and holding hands. Just open the emoji panel (WIN + .) and try these combinations by typing the following in the search box: family, couple, holding hands or kissing.
- Now you can use the WIN + Alt + K keyboard shortcut to switch the microphone mute state in the taskbar.
- According to feedback, Microsoft is using keywords that include diacritics to make Portuguese and Polish emoji searches more flexible.
- .NET Framework 4.8.1 is online, bringing native ARM64 support.
- Since “Settings”> “System”> “Sound” in Win11 will display a warning when microphone access is restricted in the user’s privacy settings, Microsoft will delete the notification to remind users to pay attention to this.
- Added support for canceling the 2021 daylight saving time in the Republic of Fiji.
- When you newly install Win11, the touch indicator option is now turned off by default, located under “Settings”> “Accessibility”> “Mouse Pointer and Touch”. Added a link to this settings page from “Settings”> “Bluetooth and Devices”> “Touch”.
- When in tablet mode on small devices (11-inch screen diagonal and below), the application will be maximized by default.
Repair:
Start Menu:
- Fixed a root cause of incorrect display of icons in the recommended section of the start menu.
- If the user opens the start menu and immediately presses Shift + F10 or the context menu key, the context menu should now be aligned with the search box.
Mission Board:
- Fixed an issue when loading the battery icon in the taskbar, causing explorer.exe to crash in recent versions.
- Some changes have been made to help the clock in the taskbar update more reliably, and the issue of clock not updating on the remote desktop.
- Mitigated the positioning problem that may cause the date and time to be cropped from the end of the taskbar.
- If the user customizes the low battery notification, the battery icon in the taskbar will be displayed correctly instead of using the default value to display the warning.
- Right-clicking on the date and time in the taskbar will now close the open notification center so that users can see the context menu options.
Enter:
- The keyboard lights (such as Caps Lock) should now work properly.
- Based on feedback, more adjustments were made to emoji search keywords, including improved search results during day and night.
- Fixed the problem that the kaomoji list of kaomoji is blank when using the Chinese input method for WIN +.
- Fixed an issue with the search results of the emoji panel, which may cause a single gif to be displayed repeatedly with some queries.
- The problem that the input method is not suitable for certain games is alleviated.
- Solved the problem that the option under “Settings”> “Personalization” to change the touch keyboard setting “Display text suggestions and add a space bar after selecting text suggestions” may unexpectedly not be displayed.
- If the user pauses for a long time while using voice input (WIN + H), they should now be able to resume normal use.
- Fixed some inconsistencies between the actual listening state and microphone vision in the voice input.
- If the user moves the caret while using voice input, the text should no longer be accidentally repeated.
Window:
- Choosing the Align Layout option no longer randomly places windows on other monitors.
Set-up:
- The brightness and volume sliders in the quick settings are now displayed correctly.
- Fixed an issue where the activity time could not be adjusted manually.
- Solved the problem that may cause the touch keyboard to block the password input field when connecting to the network in the quick settings.

Other:
- Fixed a scaling issue that caused the update prompt dialog (and other dialogs of this style) to be truncated and not drawn correctly after the DPI was changed.
- Improved the positioning of the context menu when right-clicking on the bottom corner of the desktop.
- Mitigated TCPIP-related issues that may cause error checking when waking up the device.
- Fixed an issue where high-priority notifications (such as alarms) would sometimes close unexpectedly without the user’s participation, causing it to randomly reappear the next time a normal priority notification comes in.
Known Issues:
Conventional:
- Users who use the latest ISO to update from version 22000.xxx or earlier to a newer developer channel may receive an error warning;
- We are investigating the problem that some PCs cannot install new versions or other updates. The PC may report the error code 0x80070002. If you encounter this problem, please restart your PC and try again.
- When installing this version, some PCs may roll back and display error code 0xc1900101-0x4001c. If you click the rollback option, after the PC rolls back to the previous version, you may need to suspend the update until Microsoft releases a fix.
Start Menu:
- In some cases, you may not be able to enter text when using “Search from Start” or the taskbar. If you encounter this problem, press WIN+R on the keyboard to launch the Run dialog box, and then close it.
Mission Board:
- When switching input methods, the taskbar sometimes flickers.
Window:
- Hovering the mouse back and forth between different desktops in the task view will cause the displayed thumbnail and content area to shrink unexpectedly.
Search:
- After clicking the search icon on the taskbar, the search panel may not open. If this happens, restart the “Windows Explorer” process and open the search panel again.
