Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra gets the new Expert RAW camera app

Almost a year after its official presentation, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra remains one of the best smartphones on the market as regards the photographic sector (and not only) and now winks at more experienced users with the new Expert RAW application, just released from the South Korean manufacturer.

Of course, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra camera app already offers a Pro Mode mode, however, the latter can only be used on the main and ultra-wide-angle camera. The built-in Pro Mode in the device’s camera does not officially support the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s two zoom units and this is where the new application comes into play.

On the Galaxy Store, starting from South Korea, Samsung has released the Expert RAW app, which supports all the cameras of the Galaxy S21 Ultra: the main 108 MP, the 12 MP ultra-wide-angle, the 10 MP with zoom 3x optical and 10 MP with periscope lenses and 10x optical zoom. All cameras can be used in Pro Mode, with the possibility for the user to manually intervene on exposure, focus, ISO, white balance and shutter speed. All controls are available in both photos and videos.

In addition to this, Expert RAW allows Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra owners to adjust highlights, shadows, saturation and hue (like the stock app), but also offers histogram, HDR support, ability to save images in Lossless JPG formats. and 16-bit Linear DNG RAW.

It is essential to clarify that the Expert RAW application is only available for Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and only works if the smartphone has been updated to Android 12 with One UI 4.0. Right now the app is in beta, but the stable release should be around the corner. Here is the link to download the APK:
