This summer, Microsoft announced that it would resurrect Clippy, making it one of the new Emoji. Now, Windows 11 users can get a new series of Emojis after installing optional updates through Windows Update, including big eye clips.
In July of this year, after successfully garnering 20,000 likes on Twitter and Instagram, Microsoft today announced that it will re-enable Clippy and replace paperclip emojis in Windows, Office, Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft 365 products.
In an interview with The Verge, Microsoft’s official emoji expert Claire Anderson (Claire Anderson) said: Clippy has accompanied me to grow up. It looks like a fun little Easter egg. We have all imagined it. When you put a paper clip in a Microsoft product, you will feel that kind of joy, and then suddenly, you will have this kind of nostalgia.

If you want the latest Emoji, users need to install this month’s optional update. Users can visit Windows Update in the Windows 11 Settings app, manually check for updates, and then click to download and install. Once installed, your computer will restart. This will take a few minutes, and then you can use the Windows key + period in the emoji selector to access the new emoji.
As a reminder, these new emojis are all about fun, expression, and personality. The emojis are still 2D, but they look much more vivid than previous Windows versions. However, Microsoft said it should give people a feeling of personality and familiarity. However, some people are dissatisfied with the fact that these emojis look so “flat” compared to the preview released by the Microsoft design team.
