Cyberpunk 2077: The next-gen patch has a launch period

Cyberpunk 2077 had continued to be talked about negatively, when CD Projekt Red revealed that the next-gen version would only arrive in 2022, along with that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The players who could not wait to be able to explore the Night City map with real new generation improvements had to put their hearts in peace and wait for further news from the software house. To reveal updates on the matter is Adam Kicinski, who recently spoke on the matter.

According to the president of CD Projekt Red, in an interview with Rzeczpospolita, the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive in the first quarter of 2022 together with the update 1.5. We are therefore talking about a period from January 1st to March 31st, 2022 which, if we think about it, is not as far off as we might have expected, fortunately. Too bad, however, that in the same interview Kicinski confirmed that no other big updates will be released during 2021.

It is certainly not new, however: we already knew, thanks to the roadmap for the end of 2021 and 2022, that Cyberpunk 2077 would stop receiving such large patches until the first months of next year. However, we have confirmed that free updates for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will also arrive during the same period. “The decision to postpone the next-gen version of Cyberpunk was very difficult to make, but we are confident it was the best, especially since it was highly recommended by the development team,” explained the president of CD Projekt Red.

In the same interview, Kicinski reveals that he is still very confident about the title: “We believe that in the long run, Cyberpunk 2077 will be remembered as a great game, and like our other titles, it will sell for years.” Let’s be honest, seeing that CD Projekt Red believes so much in its production is a positive sign that it will continue to be improved for a long time to come. After all, just in the last few hours, many players have already begun to reevaluate the game on Steam. Do you think so too? Let us know your opinion by commenting at the bottom!
